Know about the outage.
Then know when it’s over.

Configure checks for the parts of your app that matter. Indie brings failures and recoveries into the same place as your day-to-day activity.

A homepage check is a start. Add separate checks for the endpoints your app relies on, with response status, content or timing expectations where useful.

Plan the first checks

A job can fail without taking the site down.

A nightly report, backup or scheduled import can quietly stop running. Heartbeats let Indie watch for the expected check-in and flag when it is late.

Recovery is part of the story.

Once a monitor recovers, the incident history shows that change. On iPhone, an outage or recovery notification opens the affected monitor rather than dropping you at a generic dashboard.

Check what users depend on.

Indie supports HTTP/API, TCP, DNS and certificate checks, plus cron heartbeats. The launch plan includes 25 active scheduled monitors, with checks as often as every 60 seconds, and 10 heartbeats.

Those are checks, not projects. A website, its API and its certificate can use three monitor slots. Give each check a clear name so an alert tells you what to investigate.

Make room for planned work.

Use maintenance windows for work you already know about. Keep the distinction between a paused or unmonitored app and an app that has passed its checks. On the overview and widget, unknown stays separate from up.

Acknowledge incidents when you are handling them. Keep a record of the interruption and its recovery so you can connect the timing to a deployment or a change in your own logs.

Monitoring tells you where to look.

Indie detects the conditions you configure. It does not fix a broken deployment, inspect every line of AI-generated code, or prove that a full checkout journey works just because an endpoint responds.

Use it alongside tests, logs, backups and a rollback plan. For an app builder, a few well-chosen checks are a more useful starting point than a wall of green lights.
